So now I have all these apples and big plans for them. I am making pies, crisps and trying for the first time my own homemade apple sauce. I am trying step by step to take back the food that we are putting in our bodies from the big commercial outfitters that often resort to using tons of chemicals on them. It is a little bit of a thing at this point but I am starting to put the Home Independence Challenge together. For more information on how to join us please leave me a comment.

Apple Picking and Winter Time Prep
Well the Autumn colors are starting to make their appearances here in New Hampshire. We took the kids apple picking yesterday and came home with a Bushel of Macintosh apples. I have to say that Autumn is one of my two faveorite seasons of the year. I love spring where I can start digging in the dirt and watching Mother Nature really come alive. But Autumn has such beautiful colors, warm smells from my kitchen and just a nice overall feel to it. Mind you it means that Old Man Winter is well on his way to covering all the land with his blanket of white.
