Frugal Series #1- Mobile Games

 Hello Everyone.

Life is scary right now. Watching the news really terrifies me. So I have created a series that can help everyone to earn a couple extra bucks every week. Any "extra" money can be used for just about anything. I try and earn about $150 each week. I will be posting on Saturdays what I did during the week and my earnings to help show others what options are out there.

Today's post is about learning what kind of games are out there.

1. Play-to-Earn (P2E) Games: Turn Your Time into Crypto or Cash

Play-to-Earn (P2E) games are a new wave of mobile games that reward players with cryptocurrency, digital assets (like NFTs), or even real-world currency. These games have grown in popularity thanks to blockchain technology, which allows players to truly own in-game items and trade them for real value.

How It Works

In traditional games, you grind for in-game currency or items that are locked to your account. In P2E games, the items or tokens you earn can often be sold or exchanged outside the game. For example, you might earn a crypto token for completing missions or battling other players, which you can later convert into real money using a crypto exchange.

Popular P2E Mobile Games

Here are a few mobile games that have gained attention in the P2E space:

  • Axie Infinity – One of the original blockchain games, players battle and breed creatures called Axies. The in-game tokens (SLP and AXS) can be traded for real money.

  • The Sandbox (Mobile Alpha) – While more popular on PC, its mobile version is gaining traction. You can buy land, build experiences, and sell NFTs.

  • Gods Unchained (Mobile Beta) – A trading card game where you earn cards and rewards that can be sold.

⚠️ Note: Many P2E games fluctuate in popularity and income potential. It’s important to research the current state of a game before investing your time or money.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Potential to earn real money while playing.

  • Ownership of digital assets.

  • Often fun and community-driven.

Cons:

  • Crypto prices are volatile—your earnings can drop suddenly.

  • Many games require an upfront investment (e.g., buying characters).

  • Scams and low-quality games are common in the P2E space.

Tips for Getting Started

  • Start with free-to-play options before investing money.

  • Join official Discord or Telegram groups to stay updated.

  • Use a secure crypto wallet like MetaMask or Trust Wallet.

  • Always double-check if the game is legitimate by reading reviews and looking at recent player activity.
