The Simple Life

Life can be very complicated and people are always searching for ways to make it simpler.  For some this means finding more apps on a smart phone, organizing things in their lives or moving to Tiny Houses.  Life can throw curve balls at you that make you stop in your tracks and just be thankful for the blessings that you already have.

We have started on a journey to find a simple life again. Due to my Husband’s heart attack and subsequent health issues our world has radically changed.  So what better time do we have than now to re-vamp and start on a new path towards making our lives simpler?

As I started to sit and think how these changes would affect my family, I realized that we did have some simple things already in place. Like I would wash my laundry in the washing machine but I always hung it out on the clothes line to dry. This was for several reasons-reduce electric bill, make clothes last longer, plus you can’t beat the smell of the clothes after they have been line dried. I tried to make dinner from scratch every day, yes sometimes we did go out for dinner but it was a rare occurrence.

But I need to back up and start at the beginning. I need to find out for myself what does Simple Living mean to me.

  • ·         More time with Family

  • ·         Making due with Less

  • ·         Financially Ok- Now this for us means that the bills are being met, not necessarily buying everything we want the exact moment we want it. This is going to be the hardest especially with the price of everything continuously going up.

  • ·         Still having a life
